ABC Bank Strengthens Diaspora Banking Presence Through United States Diaspora Tour

ABC Bank has strengthened its commitment to serving Kenyans in the diaspora following a successful engagement tour across several cities in the United States, including Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia and Massachusetts.

Led by the Bank’s Head of Diaspora Banking, Anthony Njenga, the tour which took place in April and May, gained valuable insights into the financial aspirations and needs of Kenyans in the diaspora, like their investment ambitions, banking expectations, and opportunities for collaboration.

“Throughout the tour, we learnt that diaspora customers are keen to participate in Kenya’s economic growth and are looking for reliable partners who can help them achieve their financial goals,” said Mr. Njenga. Apart from reliable partners, the participants also highlighted the need for more seamless and customer-centric experiences across both the banking and telecommunications sectors.

During the tour, the Bank focused on meeting with various chamas and professional working groups to better understand their unique financial needs, investment priorities, and challenges in accessing banking services from the diaspora. Through the engagements, the team also showcased tailored diaspora banking solutions designed to support savings, investments, home ownership, and seamless money transfers.

The successful U.S. tour reflected the Bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting diaspora communities and enabling their financial aspirations. Looking ahead, the Bank will continue to strengthen its diaspora banking offering through deeper relationships, investment facilitation, and value-added solutions that connect customers abroad with opportunities back home.
