ABC Bank participated in the Bohra Community Convention that took place from 28th – 31st July 2021 at Saifee Park, Karen, Nairobi. The event brought together delegates from various parts of the world including the UK, US and Asia.
The Bank had a counter where the attendees exchanged currency and opened accounts. Being the only Bank in attendance, the Bank was able to interact with the Bohra community members and share its various products and service offering.
The Dawoodi Bohra are a subset of the Shia Ismaili community and are about 6,500–8,000 in Kenya. Shi’a Islam in Kenya is represented primarily by a number of sects, who are largely the descendants of Muslim traders from the Middle East and India who came to the East African coast for purposes of trade.
