ABC Bank participates in Agriculture Webinar – 11th August

ABC Bank participated in a webinar organized by Agricultural Industry Network (AIN) titled “Reflections on Agricultural Reforms and Emerging Technologies” on 19th August, 2021. AIN is an association that brings together key players along the entire agriculture value chain including producers, processors, traders, employees, co-operatives and consumers in the agricultural sector countrywide.

The webinar targeted AIN members and was aimed at exposing their members on the status of ongoing reforms in Kenya’s agricultural sector. It explored various options available from the banking sector to address the challenge of access to finance and had the members taken through agricultural technologies that can be borrowed from the international best practices.

ABC Bank, represented by Nancy Ogutu of SME Banking, made a presentation on Amplifying Agricultural Transformation agenda through Agrifinance initiatives. “The Bank has focused on collaborations which have led to leading-edge partnerships that have improved access to credit facilities and financial services in the agricultural sector. We have leveraged on digital technology to derive the data that is used to inform products and services needed by the value chain such as the adoption of agricultural-based insurance products and seasonal lending in agribusiness”, she said.
