Celebrating Christmas with Kayole Street Children’s Home at the Nairobi Arboretum

In what has become a cherished holiday season tradition spanning over a decade, ABC staff and Friends of Kayole (made up of former staff) on December 6th, 2025, gathered at the Nairobi Arboretum to celebrate Christmas with the girls of Kayole Street Children’s Home.

The CSR celebration which is dedicated to forging deeper connections with the children, brought together laughter, bonding, and meaningful interaction in a relaxed outdoor setting. The event featured lively team games that quickly broke the ice and set the tone for the day. These activities were followed by a shared meal and a festive cake-cutting session, which symbolised gratitude, togetherness, and the spirit of the season.

According to Neema, Manager- Credit Risk, “Seeing the girls laugh, play, and simply enjoy the day was a reminder of why this tradition matters. It’s not just about Christmas, it’s about showing up consistently, building relationships with the girls, and letting them know they are seen, valued, and supported.”

To ensure the festive spirit lasted throughout the month, the team followed up with a special visit to the Kayole Street Children’s Home on December 22nd, delivering lunch and a Christmas mbuzi, ensuring the festive cheer extended well beyond the Arboretum gathering.

Driven by a commitment to long-term mentorship and support for the girls of Kayole Street Children’s Home, this annual tradition aims to provide a consistent sense of belonging and joy for the children every festive season, beyond one-off donations and create a sustained, lasting impact on the girls’ lives.
