On December 8, ABC Bank, Friends of Kayole and Kayole Children’s Home had a memorable and heartwarming gathering at the Nairobi Arboretum. The event, which marked the official kickoff of the holiday festivities, was filled with laughter, games, and shared moments of joy.

The annual event is more than just a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for ABC Bank, it is a cherished tradition that began in 2011 and symbolises the strong family bond between the bank, the children of Kayole and the Friends of Kayole. As Benington, the Assistant Manager, ABC Bank Internal Audit department said, “Kayole Children’s Home isn’t just a CSR tick on our checklist, it’s family. Watching these girls blossom into smart, independent women is the reward that keeps our hearts full.”

The event also provided an opportunity for ABC staff to reconnect with the children and young adults, offering a chance for reflection and to gear up for the upcoming year. The gathering not only brought fun and games but also served as a reminder of the importance of showing up and being present for one another, year after year.

Continuing the festivities, on 16th December, a team from ABC Bank delivered a Mbuzi which the girls will have on Christmas day. This gesture, though simple, was a token of ABC Bank’s commitment to being a steady and loving presence in the lives of the children at Kayole.

“We are proud of the meaningful relationship we have built with Kayole Children’s Home over the years. It’s not just about the gifts or gestures; it’s about being part of these children’s journey towards a brighter future,” said Benington, “we look forward to continuing this tradition and being there for them every step of the way.”
