ABC Bank is a leading commercial bank providing long term careers to deserving professionals. We are seeking to recruit dynamic, creative and self-oriented professional for the following position.


The incumbents will be responsible for acquisition of new business and cross selling both Retail and SME products within the assigned branch in line with the sales objectives of the bank.


Key Responsibilities

1.Prospect and sell accounts to Customers

•Prospect, anticipate and sell Bank products to new and existing quality customers and close all sales leads within the shortest time possible in an efficient way

•Sell and prospect to quality customers who are within the bank’s target market

•Assist customers to identify their needs so as to sell bank products that meet their expectations and seek customer feedback on the same

•Implementing agreed strategies and programs that achieve set sales in both assets and liabilities for SME and Retail Banking and other performance targets for the branch

•Participate in product campaigns to ensure the bank product information is readily available to the target market

•Preparing regular performance reports as required.

2.Customer Service

Ensure stellar customer service in line with the Bank’s policies and regulatory requirements as follows:

•Handle customers in a friendly and personalised manner when selling bank products and when guiding them on account opening procedures and documentation required

•Obtain all customer information and documents required to open an account and ensure KYC compliance

•Obtaining timely, relevant market intelligence feedback useful for product development

•Escalate customers complains to their respective line managers.

3.Relationship Management.

•Providing an interface between the bank, existing and prospective customers in order to maintain good customer relations, so as to meet customer needs within the strategic objective of the bank

•Develop additional business from the existing bank clientele - i.e. increase share of wallet by cross selling all personal banking products to all the existing and potential branch customers.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

•A University Degree or a Diploma from a recognized university/institution

•Well versed in banking, sales or client relationship management

•At least 1 to 2 years’ experience in direct sales with a proven performance record

•Computer literate.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey ideas and positions clearly

•Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and develop relationships

•Good analytical skills.
