BRANCH MANAGERS (Nairobi & Lamu)

REPORTING TO: HEAD OF RETAIL BANKING

The ideal candidates will be responsible for service and business targets as well as profitability and growth for the assigned branch in line with the bank’s strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Branch sales strategy is implemented and performance targets.
  • Ensure fast, efficient and excellent customer service delivery, maintenance and improvement of banking service standards in order to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Formulating and implementing Branch business plans, budgets and forecasts and ensuring their control and periodic reviews
  • Building, developing, motivating and maintaining a high performing team.
  • Implementing and monitoring the operational risk management guidelines for the Branch.
  • Supporting marketing initiatives, monitoring and providing regular feedback on products performance.
  • Maintaining knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements relevant to the role.
  • Cooperating fully with the Credit Department  in extending and enforcing credit policy
  • Directing all operational aspects of the branch to include distribution, operations, customer service, human resources, administration and sales in a manner that supports reaching the profitability goals.
  • Administration and efficient daily operation of a full service branch office, including operations, lending, product sales, customer service, and security and safety in accordance with the Bank’s objectives.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • A University degree in a business related field from a recognized University.
  • Professional banking qualifications such as AKIB will be added advantage
  • Knowledge of operational policies, procedures and legalities relevant to branch operations
  • At least 5 years’ managerial experience in the banking industry.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGER- CORPORATE BANKING (Nairobi)

RELATIONSHIP MANAGER- CORPORATE BANKING (Nairobi)

REPORTING TO: HEAD OF CORPORATE BANKING

To grow the Bank’s books and maximize profitability by marketing the Bank’s lending products to corporate clients. This will involve ascertaining minimal risk exposure for the Bank and maintaining customer satisfaction through professional relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit credit proposals in conformity with credit policy guidelines and requirements in liaison with the Head of Corporate Banking and to maintain a high standard of credit analysis
  • Collect and analyze vital data on clients i.e. annual reports, management accounts, interim reports, industry reports and all press cuttings, towards acquiring in-depth knowledge which will facilitate comprehensive review of assigned accounts relationships in the branch.
  • Obtain account statistics and profitability figures for facilities reviews/renewals/appraisal purposes and ensure that information provided is accurately completed and that relevant remarks are incorporated in the credit proposal
  • Prepare excess approval requests/notification for all excesses
  • Providing an interface between the bank, existing and prospective customers in order to maintain good customer relations, so as to meet customer needs within the strategic objective of the bank.
  • Make recommendation for existing and prospective customers under the various loan products and submit to the appropriate credit application formats within established turnaround time.
  • Develop and manage customer relationships for the bank.
  • Preparation of all reports required to monitor work progress – daily, weekly and monthly
  • Ensure an effective call program is maintained on all allocated relationships and prospects; (the calls should be recorded in Talisma CRM).
  • Develop the corporate banking customer base and expand the unit’s business growth through marketing of the bank’s products and services.
  • Ensuring revenue growth through customer acquisition, new need identification, product cross-sell and re-engineering
  • Ensure that the target market selection criterion is adhered to and that we are in full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) requirements
  • Assist in identifying customer needs not met by existing products and the implementation of new products and services
  • Achievement of set revenue target for the unit by aggressive customer acquisition, efficient product delivery, offering a diverse range of products and excellent customer service
  • Market research to monitor competitor activity and initiating product improvements to meet the changing consumer needs.

  • Prompt calling of customers using on a daily basis for accounts falling in arrears.
  • Prospect, anticipate and close all sales leads within the shortest time possible in an efficient way

  • Assume direct responsibility for a corporate banking process improvement project aimed at improving the department’s ability to deliver efficient and timely service to its customers.
  • Follow up credit matters with Corporate Credit Risk
  • Continuous follow-up with customers and legal department to ensure perfection of securities.

  • Effectively process, appraise and make recommendations on all business proposals
  • Ensure all credit applications approval comply with the credit policy and procedures and are processed within the service level agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality of leadership to achieve and sustain optimal motivation, commitment and participation of staff to achieve Banks overall objectives on Supply Chain
  • Adequate level of competence of self and staff to effectively perform job tasks
  • Adequate market knowledge to guide strategic and tactical decisions for purposes of achieving and sustaining effective competitive positioning.

REPORTING TO: BRANCH MANAGER

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaison between branches and corporate anchors to grow business through SME & Supply chain solutions within ABC Bank.
  • Providing timely and value added services across ABC Banks clientele, initiate and follow through partnerships and networking with Branches and Head Office Credit.
  • Provide relationship management on matters regarding supply chain and SME between branches and head office.
  • Responsible for the actual preparation of credit applications and supporting loan documentation – Credit Origination Fulfilment
  • By monitoring all loan facilities in the portfolio (on a joint responsibility basis with Credit Division) on a daily basis against set parameters/ conditions.
  • Preparation of ICERS and TOD/EOL requests under the instructions of the Business Development Managers in SME.
  • To maximize revenue generation and margins for the BANK

REPORTING TO: HEAD OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS DIVISION

The incumbent will be responsible for the routine activities in the section, ensuring controls and risk mitigation are in place for all areas of responsibilities, accurate and timely management of statutory reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for issuance of import/export Letters of credit as per agreed terms in the letter of offer/SLA/TAT.
  • Checking of LC documents for compliance with LC terms and ensure timely advice to client and corresponding bank.
  • Process documentary collections, ensuring timely advice to clients /RMs and follow up for payment on due date.
  • Process letters of guarantee within approved SLAs/TAT and within format agreed by legal.
  • Processing of Local bills discounting as per approvals/supply chain terms and ensure adherence to SLA’s /TAT, remind RMs /branches on due dates for the bills.

The Incumbent will be responsible for the following;

  • Lead marketer and pro-active portfolio management by maintaining close and regular contact with investing clients, advising them on investment opportunities, reviewing and evaluating market information and advising management as appropriately.
  • To help build, grow and maintain business development in the company through establishment of key relationships with existing and potential clients and maximize commissions and other income streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide market leadership in sourcing for new business.
  • Pro-active management of existing client portfolio while leveraging on research and information sharing.
  • Marketing for new clients across the strata including retail, HNWI, Corporate and Institutional investors.

  • To implement the Agribusiness strategy for SME banking
  • Develop annual plans for the business in-order to build a profitable asset portfolio and deposits from agribusiness sector.
  • Grow and Maintain market share for assets and Liabilities in the Agribusiness Banking segment through innovative product development of the Agribusiness products and solutions for acceptable and commercially viable value chains.
  • Analyze the market trends in the agriculture sector and competitively position the bank product offering for the agriculture sector.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in the agriculture sector and actors for various value chains in order to tap in on banking opportunities
  • Drive cross-selling of agribusiness products to existing and new ABC Bank customers

CASH OFFICER– KISUMU,NAKURU,MOMBASA AND KOINANGE

CASH OFFICER– KISUMU,NAKURU,MOMBASA AND KOINANGE

REPORTING TO: BRANCH MANAGER

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all operational activities in cash department.
  • Verifying of all cash items to and from cashiers and strong room.
  • Ensure that customer accounts are credited and debited correctly.
  • Daily checking of cash scrolls and balancing actual cash with the transactions at the end of the day.
  • Check tellers’ individual tills on a daily basis and ensure the same agrees with the balances to the figures reflected for the day in the tellers cash position account, both in system and cashiers cash book
  • Responsible for Outward Clearing.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of bank and customer information.
  • Supervise packaging coin and currency including mutilated funds
  • Managing Forex transactions, which have been sent by the bank or negotiated by the relevant customers in terms of buying, selling and adhering to the exchange rate to the benefit of the bank
  • Daily checking of all the transfer vouchers and ensuring that the same are properly stitched
  • Manage cash holding and liaising with the Operations Officer to meet branch targets reflecting risk and non productive assets reduction in order to ensure that there is enough cash/change in the branch and any excess cash should be transferred to the Cash Center for outward transmission to CBK or Deposit direct to CBK
  • Ensure that all entries are verified in the system at close of day and bring to the attention of Operations Officer any outstanding entries and arrange for insurance cover for excess cover limit
  • Support business development through generation of sales leads and escalation to the Retail Manager

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge Experience & Key Competencies

  • University Degree in a business related field from a recognized university/ institution. . Those with AKIB Diploma, CPA-K/CPS/ACCA and MBA will have an added advantage.
  • 3-4 years relevant experience in the banking sector and at least 2 years’ experience in bank operations.
  • Should be well-versed with operational and account KYC/AML compliance requirements.
  • Cash Management Skills.
