On Friday 15th March, ABC Bank hosted 5 ladies from Ngara Girls High School for a job shadow day in celebration of Global Money Week. Global Money Week is an annual financial awareness campaign held in March to inspire children and young people to learn about money matters, livelihoods and entrepreneurship. This year’s Global Money Week theme is “Learn Save Earn”. This is an initiative of Kenya Bankers Association in partnership with Junior Achievers. The girls visited Westlands Branch and some departments in Head Office where they got to learn the roles and functions of different departments.
On Thursday 15th March 2019, ABC Bank donated Sh. 300,000 to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital in support of this year’s Mater Heart Run to be held on Saturday 25th May 2019. ABC Bank Head of Retail Banking, Amanda Corline said that the Bank was glad to be giving back to the community and making a difference in the health sector by partnering in The Mater Heart Run programme as she presented Mater Hospital Governing Council Chair, Prof. Henry Thairu with a dummy cheque in support of The Mater Heart Run 2019.
The Mater Heart Run is aimed at raising funds for the cardiac program. Initially held only in Nairobi, the Heart Run has grown over the years and is now held in nine different towns; Nairobi, Mombasa, Machakos, Mumias, Meru, Kisumu, Nyeri, Eldoret and Nakuru
Love filled the air on Thursday, 14th February, Valentines day and we were not left behind. What better way to make the day special for our diaspora customers than to surprise their loved ones on their behalf with flowers and gifts right at their door steps. It was a love-filled day and a pleasant reminder to the recipients that no matter the distance, they are always in their loved ones hearts.
On Saturday, 8th December, ABC Bank staff had the pleasure of joining one of our partners, Mrs Eunice Menja, in the official opening of Upendo Kids’ Village in Kiagojo, Murang’a County. Upendo Children’s Home is a centre for destitute children that was established by a Kenya couple living in the US, Robert and Eunice Menja (our clients). Earlier this year, Upendo Children’s Home moved from Juja, Thika to a more spacious location in Muranga County. Through the relationship with the couple, the Bank has been supporting the home to ensure they enjoy a quality life. It was an emotion-charged day as they marked the milestone of officially opening Upendo Kids Village.
2nd November, 2018: ABC Bank bagged the Finance and Investments – 1st runners up award during the 2018 Champions of Governance (CoG) awards organized by the Institute of Certified Secretaries held at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The awards seek to embed good governance practices that transform institutions and inspire professionals in order to be the premier centre of excellence in governance promotion and development in Africa. The awards affirm the Bank’s commitment in implementing and complying with principles of good governance of responsibility, accountability, fairness and transparency.

ABC Bank in conjunction with the Car Importers Association of Kenya hosted car importers for a dinner on Thursday, 25th October 2018 in Mombasa. The ABC Bank team had an interactive evening networking with car importers and shared tips on how they can take advantage of the best prices in international currencies and the recently revamped ABC foreign exchange value proposition to car importers.
ABC Bank has been supporting The Cluster Foundation, a charity organization that provides assistance and support to people with spinal cord injury commonly known as paraplegics since 2012. The Bank once again joined hands with TCF in supporting the cause by donating newspapers.
ABC Bank joined the world in marking this year’s Customer Service Week by celebrating its relationship with customers in all its branches. The Bank engaged customers and staff in a variety of exciting activities as part of it’s efforts in embracing this year’s Customer Service Week theme of “Sustaining Customer Experience Excellence”.
The annual week-long event was marked from 1st to 5th October. This is an international celebration of the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis. Locally, the event is coordinated by the Institute of Customer Service of Kenya.
The week was filled with with pomp and glamour for both external and internal customers where customers enjoyed goodies and fun-filled games in our branches. The Bank took the opportunity to celebrate its customers and appreciate them for journeying with us and for their support over the years.
On Saturday 29th September, the Bank team was flying our blue flag high at Inter-bank games at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS). Accompanied by an energy filled cheering squad that brought the oomph to the games, the team made us proud.
